92. About Advanced Editing Tools
If you are comfortable with photo editing, you should use Picasa's Tuning tab when editing a photograph. As a group, the controls on this tab give you much finer control over your photos than the Basic Fixes tab. Here's what you can do with this tab:
Fill Light slider This option functions exactly like the same slider on the Basic Fixes tab.
Highlights slider This slider enables you to add to or reduce the highlights in your picture. In the Picasa world, highlights refers to the overall brightness of a picture.
Shadows slider This slider enables you to add more shadows to your photo. In the Picasa world, shadows refers to the overall dimness of a picture.
Color Temperature slider This slider enables you to make your picture warmer (move the slider to the right and you add more yellow tones) or cooler (move the slider to the left and you add more blue tones).
Neutral Color Picker This option enables you to tell Picasa which part of your picture should be considered absolute middle gray or absolute white. After you identify the white or gray point, the program color balances the colors in the photo, making adjustments based on the selection you made.
